The highly anticipated CW pilot, The Carries Diaries, will begin filming in NYC this month.

According to a recent casting call, The Carrie Diaries will be shooting in New York City on 3/24 and 3/25 (with fittings happening this week). The casting call was looking for men and women, ages 18-70.

The pilot will star AnnaSophia Robb as a young Carrie Bradshaw and Austin Butler as her love interest, Sebastian Kydd. Based on the best-selling book, The Carrie Diaries gives a glimpse inside Carrie’s pre-Sex and the City days.

Gossip Girl producer Josh Schwartz is executive producing the show.

The pilot is expected to film at various locations around NYC (including Wall Street) and will be based at Silvercup Studios in Long Island City (just like SATC was back in the day).

AnnaSophia has been cast as the lead in the pilot “The Carrie Diaries,” the prequel to the successful HBO comedy “Sex and the City.”

Based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, Carrie Diaries revolves around a young Carrie Bradshaw as she comes of age in the 1980s, asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan.

HBO owns the rights to Sex and the City, with corporate cousin the CW hearing the pitch in September and immediately committing to the project. Robb’s reps can only hope that this project will have the same impact on her career as SATC — which ran from 1998-2004 on HBO and spurred a pair of feature films — did for Sarah Jessica Parker’s.

Also AnnaSophia wrote about “The Carrie Diaries” on her twitter last night ” So excited for #carriediaries! It was online before I even knew hahahaha oh technology. ” In two weeks she will be traveling to NYC to star working.
