AnnaSophia to Attend “Voices” Film Festival

AnnaSophia’s official website was updated today with the following message:

The Denver Film Society is hosting Denver’s first International Women’s Film Festival called Women + Film VOICES Film and it will run from March 8-13th at the new Denver Film Society’s center on Colfax. It is a celebration of women and a call to act. They hope VOICES will educate on world issues, inspire the audience to be courageous and to act on being the change they want to see in the world. There will be a great line up of films, with Q&A afterwards; fun parties; and “salons” where you can come and meet leaders in the global community that are making a difference.

They were fortunate to be able to screen ‘Soul Surfer’ on March 9th at 7pm. Bethany Hamilton and AnnaSophia will be there too!

Tickets can be purchased on line at www.denverfilm.org. Click on Women + Film VOICES, and select the films you would like to attend. There are also group sales and passes for the event for sale by calling the DFS at 303 595 3456 x 232. Shawn or Ann will be able to help you.

This is a non-profit festival. Take a look at the sponsorship opportunities on the attachment. Hosting a film or reception is a great way to show the community who your company is and what you stand for.

Here’s to hoping for some pictures! As Soul Surfer comes closer, I have a feeling we’ll be getting a lot of them! :) Also, sorry for the delay in gallery updates – I’ll be adding some new goodies this weekend!

In other news, according to IMDb, the Travis Fine directed drama, The Space Between, in which AnnaSophia plays Sam McLeod, will be released in theaters throughout the US on September 11th, 2011, exactly ten years after the horrid tragedy which the movie is based on happened. I’m so excited for this film! Sam looks like a character AnnaSophia has never really done before.

        Soul Surfer: Official Trailer!

Thanks to Amy in the comments, we now have EW’s exclusive look at the Soul Surfer trailer! It looks amazing, and AnnaSophia actually has lines! :) Check it, and the article posted by EW, out below. We’ll be sure to keep you guys posted as it becomes available for viewing on YouTube and other sites. :)

The new trailer for Soul Surfer — which EW is debuting exclusively — starts off like so many other sun-drenched surfing films: Lots of big waves, cute boys, upbeat soft rock, and a spunky teenager named Bethany Hamilton (AnnaSophia Robb, Bridge to Terebithia) with a gift for riding the monster Hawaiian surf. But anyone familiar with Bethany’s true story knows what comes next: A shark takes a liking to her left arm, derailing her promising surfing career before it really had a chance to begin. The trailer also features co-stars Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid as Bethany’s parents, and country star Carrie Underwood in her feature film debut as a church youth group leader. But I’m most impressed with how boldly the trailer showcases Bethany’s missing arm — and the impressive visual-effects that made it seem like Robb went Method and had it removed for the role.

Watch the trailer for what will surely be AnnaSophia’s best performance yet here!
